Arthur A. Durand (SMS 792)

This collection contains historical documents and working papers gathered by Dr. Durand during his research on the history of the World War II-era Stalag Luft III German prison camp for Allied aviators for his book, Stalag Luft III: The Secret Story. Of significance in the collection is a complete set of the camp paper, Gefangenen Gazette, which was sent by its founder and editor, Ronald Delaney, a former prisoner in the camp. Other important information includes documentation about the Red Cross and YMCA activities supporting prisoners in the camps.
