Lt. Allen Bevin was a pilot who trained and flew during World War I. After initial training in the United States, Bevin transferred to Italy and commenced training at the 8th Aviation Instruction School in Foggia, Italy, for the Air Service of the American Expeditionary Force. After almost a year in Italy, Bevin transferred to Sussex, England, where he served until the end of the war. Clark Special Collections Branch holds a collections of Bevin's flight training manuals and handbooks primarily from his time in Italy.
