Herman Fred Krueger (1894 - 1991) was an American aviator and politician who served in the U.S. Army's American Expeditionary Forces during World War I. He fought over Austria and Italy and was awarded the Italian War Cross for his service. After the war, he returned to Kansas but moved to Wyoming in 1920 and later became the state's House Speaker. Krueger died in August 1991 at the age of 97 and was the last living World War I pilot from Wyoming.
This collection consists of a single 76-page photo album containing black and white photographs from Kreuger’s experiences in World War I. Many of the photos are captioned and include the names of those pictured. Also included are brief narratives scattered throughout the album describing places and events depicted on that page of the album. Names and topics for each page are noted in the Arrangement and Description section of the finding aid (link above).
